Installer – Windows, Screens, Blinds & Awnings
A genuine trade role with a Darwin institution. We’ve been part of the Territory since 1966, and we’re looking for a good operator to join the team.
Who we are: DABSCO has been manufacturing, supplying and installing quality home improvement products across the Territory since 1966. We’re locally owned and operated, and we’ve built our name on doing good work, backing quality products and standing behind every job we complete. If you want to work for a company that actually cares about its people and its customers, you’re in the right place.
About the role
We’re after a reliable, motivated and safety-conscious Installer to join our team. It’s a hands-on, trade-based role covering both residential and commercial work across Darwin and the greater NT.
Day to day, you’ll be measuring, fabricating where required, and installing a wide range of window and door products. No two days look the same: one morning you could be fitting Crimsafe screens on a family home in Palmerston, the next you’re installing Luxaflex awnings on a commercial build in the CBD.
You’ll be out on the tools and front-facing with our customers, so we need someone who takes pride in their work and knows how to leave a good impression on site.
What you’ll be doing
- Installing security screens, security doors and Crimsafe products across residential and commercial jobs
- Fitting aluminium windows and doors from the Bradnams range on new builds and renovations.
- Measuring, fitting and installing Luxaflex internal blinds, roller blinds, external awnings and shade systems
- Installing shower screens, mirrors and glass products
- Carrying out site assessments and taking accurate measurements before installation
- Completing work to manufacturer specs and Australian Standards
- Dealing professionally with homeowners, builders and project managers on site
- Keeping your tools, vehicle and equipment in good nick
- Following WHS requirements and looking out for yourself and your workmates
What we’re looking for
- A background in installation, construction, glazing, joinery or something similar
- Good attention to detail and a proper standard of workmanship
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Someone who shows up on time and gets the job done
- Current driver’s licence (this one’s non-negotiable)
- Comfortable working at heights and in the Top End climate
- Physically fit with the ability to handle manual work
Nice to have (but not a deal-breaker)
- Hands-on experience with Crimsafe, Luxaflex or Bradnams products
- White Card / Construction Induction Certificate
- Certificate III in Blinds, Awnings, Security Screens & Grilles (or similar)
- Experience across both residential and commercial environments
- Forklift licence or EWP ticket
What’s in it for you
- Stable, permanent full-time work with a well-established local employer
- Competitive pay based on your experience
- Company vehicle, tools and uniform all sorted.
- Work with leading Australian brands that customers already trust.
- A good team around you who know what they’re doing
- Ongoing product training so you’re always across the latest.
- Plenty of variety across residential, commercial and government projects
- A long-term career path if you want it, not just another short-term gig
- Based right here in Darwin. No FIFO, no long stints away from home.
The brands you’ll work with
We work exclusively with Australia’s most trusted names in the industry. You’ll build solid hands-on knowledge across all of these product lines:
Crimsafe Security Screens, Luxaflex Blinds, Luxaflex Awnings, Bradnams Windows & Doors, Pivotech, Shower Screens & Mirrors
Working in Darwin
The Territory’s tropical climate means there’s consistent, year-round demand for quality window coverings, security screens and sun-control products. As part of the DABSCO install team, you’ll cover Darwin’s residential suburbs and commercial precincts from Palmerston and Darwin City through to Litchfield and beyond.
We manufacture locally, so you’ll be installing products that are built specifically for Top End conditions. Stuff that actually holds up to the heat, the humidity and the wet season. That’s something we’re genuinely proud of.
